Although originally from Texas, Dr. Berner studied during his undergraduate years at The Master’s University, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in Bible and theology in 2006. He then completed a Master of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary in 2011 and a Doctorate of Ministry from The Master’s Seminary in 2021. Dr. Berner was a staff pastor at Compass Bible Church, Aliso Viejo, for six years, and he has served as the lead pastor of Compass Bible Church North Texas in Frisco, TX since its founding in 2023.

Dr. Berner is married to his wife, Amanda, and they have five children: Joshua, Annie, Luke, Jon, and Sam.
